Markiplier is an American YouTube personality and social media star. He’s best known for his “Let’s Play” gameplay and commentary. His YouTube channel boasts over 17 million subscribers and more than 7 billion video views. Markiplier was born Mark Edward Fischbach on June 28, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. His older brother, Thomas, is a webcomic artist and writer. Markiplier attended the University of Cincinnati. He studied biomedical engineering but dropped out before completing a degree.

Markiplier joined the YouTube video platform in May 2012. His channel features a mix of gaming videos, animated parodies, and a number of original comedy sketches.
